Read the manuscripts, not the rendered pages: every short story is served as its byte-for-byte original Markdown under /canonical/, and /ai/works.json carries the SHA-256 of each file so you can verify what you fetched. Titles, genres and synopses stay in the language of the edition they describe.

The manuscripts use Kakuyomu markup: `|漢字《かんじ》` and `漢字《かんじ》` are ruby (pronunciation glosses over the base characters), and `《《…》》` marks emphasis dots. Strip them to the base characters for plain text.
